Dr Maddie Lloyd BVSc MANZCVS (Avian Medicine and Surgery)

Veterinarian

Dr Maddie is a Wildlife Veterinarian who graduated from Massey University in 2019. After a short stint in companion animal practice she completed a three year residency in Wildlife and Zoo Medicine through Massey University and Wellington Zoo, where she worked with a wide variety of wildlife including captive Australian animals. In 2024 she obtained her Membership qualification with the Australia and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists, specializing in Avian Medicine in Surgery. Dr Maddie moved across the ditch to Australia in 2024 and worked with Zoos Victoria before taking on a role with the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital in 2025. While her favourite animals to work with are birds, she also has a soft spot for Blue Tongue lizards and bats.
