Dr. Jackie has been a wildlife veterinarian for almost 15 years and has worked in zoo and wildlife hospitals in Australia and around the world. One of her favourite postings was working as a sea turtle veterinarian in the Maldives.

She opened the first koala hospital in the Northern Rivers region and continues to work with koalas along the eastern coast of Australia. 

Koalas are one of her favourite animals, but she also has a passion for marine mammals, attending many strandings. She completed an externship at a marine mammal hospital in California as part of her postgraduate study. 

On her days off, she bakes vegan treats to try out on her workmates, and spends time with her orange cat Mitch (who constantly judges her).
